On the Hunt
Sometimes I write. I write drinking coffee by the window. The early autumn sun shines through the yellow leaves. My coffee is lukewarm to hot quarter past 8. What will today hold? I woke up thinking about all the tasks I want to complete. My head is full of ideas and also uncertainties. I need to communicate and connect. Life changed in an instant. What are the new rules of engagement? The only way to understand is to create and take a chance. I make a lot of mistakes, but I try. I want to try to make better mistakes.
I talk direct. I am working to soften the blow. It is time for sensitivity and understanding. I stayed up till late last night. I looked through my work, thinking, I love what I do. The years of effort displayed over a few pages of images, film, and some words. How do you show a 20-year career on a few web pages? It’s impossible. The morning breeze moves through the leaves. I feel a sense of accomplishment, but at the same time, I feel an anxious need to get to work. I need to start working with more intensity and vigor than ever. I want to do a lot.
The last month I have taken on a new routine. I am not sure if it will last, but what I am hopeful of is that I remain committed to write and to create ideas and content with an impact. I want to change, and I want to do it now. I want to change the pace. Communication is essential. How can I help create? How will I assist a brand with messaging? What content will engage with a brand’s audience? The answer has always been the same. Get stuck in, create content, message, communicate, use testing, and work to produce results. At the moment, we have to work through daily pandemic survival skills. There is a new normal, and we have to create it.
Two months ago, I was sensitive to the current climate. I still am today. The economy waits for no one. It keeps moving, and I am a part of it. I want to be a part of it. I want to create and share some magic. I will be sensitive when I make an offer. I have to make offers. Branding never stops. Living through a virus pandemic and a snail-pace economy requires branding and connectivity more than ever before.
I write to find clarity, I think to structure my plans, and I create to put my ideas to work. Do more, ship more, and make more happy mistakes. Playing safe is boring, work with intent. Pick up the phone and make a call. Send the e-mail. Create with focus and understanding. Research, plan, and connect. A workflow will have an impact if the goal to deliver is urgent. Comforting visuals, warm messaging with an abundance of creative drive. Create clear intentions, ship the work, and commit to your expectations. How can I help to build the brand you envision? How do I enhance my brand? I ask myself that question and start.
My 1 st Photography Tip.
If you choose to use your phone or a camera, look for the light.
Lighting is everything. Find the right light for your photo or video by looking for the right light and day time to create your content.
